Right to be forgotten

How to request erasure of your data, and what happens next.

Currently viewing in English

1. WHAT THE RIGHT MEANS

Under Article 17 GDPR you have the right to have your personal data erased — for example where it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for, or where you withdraw consent. The right is not absolute: we must retain some data to comply with other law, as described in section 6.

2. HOW TO REQUEST ERASURE

Complete the form at Delete my data using the email address you have used with us. You can also email support@anything.art.

We send a verification link to that address. The link is valid for 24 hours and can be used once. That step exists so nobody else can erase your data, and so we do not erase the wrong person's data.

You do not need to give a reason, and you do not need an account.

3. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Once you click the link the request is verified. It is then approved and carried out — in some cases automatically, in some cases after a manual check by us. You will be told when erasure is complete, and if anything could not be erased we will tell you what and why.

You can have only one request in progress at a time, and you can withdraw it before it is carried out.

4. WHAT WE DELETE OUTRIGHT

  • Your saved room designs in Wall Studio, including share links
  • The photos of your home you uploaded to Wall Studio
  • The photos you uploaded to create art, and the crops made from them, unless they belong to an order you placed — see section 6
  • Your saved delivery address
  • The prints you hearted or passed on
  • Your support conversations — chat, email and their attachments
  • Your membership of any shared token wallets

Deleting here means the record itself is removed, not hidden. We cannot restore it afterwards, for you or for anyone else.

5. WHAT WE ANONYMISE

Some data cannot be removed without destroying accounting records or breaking references. That data is instead made impossible to link to you: your email address is replaced with a random, non-reversible placeholder, and name, phone number and addresses are removed.

  • Your customer record (name, email, phone, addresses)
  • Your token wallet and the transaction history for token purchases
  • Your login account, if you have one
  • The creation sessions behind your artwork — the email address and the stored trace of your IP address are removed from every one of them, whether or not the images in them were deleted under section 4
  • Our visit and usage history — your email address, your customer number and the IP addresses stored against you are removed. The anonymous statistics stay, with nothing in them that names you; we keep them so that exercising this right does not rewrite our historical reporting.

This cannot be undone. It does not reach the order records described in section 6: those keep the email address, name, delivery address and phone number you gave when you ordered, because we are required to keep them.

6. WHAT WE RETAIN, AND WHY

  • Accounting records — orders, invoices and payments. We are required to keep these under the Swedish Accounting Act for seven years after the end of the calendar year in which the financial year ended. They are therefore not erased, and they keep the email address, name, delivery address and phone number you gave when you ordered. They are not used for anything else.
  • Usage statistics — de-identified information about how the service has been used stays in our usage statistics once the identifying fields listed in section 5 have been removed. Nothing in what remains names you.
  • Uploaded images and generated artwork — an image belonging to a placed order is kept as a record of that order, together with the print file it produced. Artwork our service generated is kept as our own work. Everything else you uploaded is deleted under section 4.

7. CONSEQUENCES

  • Unused tokens are lost. If you want them refunded, ask before requesting erasure.
  • You will no longer be able to reach your order history or your saved artwork.
  • Your wall designs, room photos, uploaded photos, saved address, hearted prints and support history are gone for good, and we cannot produce them for you again.
  • We can still help you with an earlier order, because the order record keeps the email address it was placed with — but nothing outside those order records points back to you any more.
  • You can start again with the same email address later, but nothing from before comes back.

8. HOW LONG IT TAKES

We handle your request without undue delay and within one month of verification at the latest. If the request is complex we may extend by two months, and will tell you why.

9. YOUR OTHER RIGHTS

You also have rights of access, rectification, restriction, objection and data portability. These are described in our Privacy Policy. If you only want a copy of your data, or to correct something, you do not need to erase everything.

10. IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED

Contact us first at support@anything.art. You also have the right to complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), www.imy.se.
